How it plays
Threads are woven across a small grid. Wherever two cross, one lies over the other. A thread can only be pulled out when it lies on top at every crossing it still has, so the whole puzzle is the order you pull them in.
Later chapters bring levers, which flip a whole group of crossings at once, and knots, which tie two threads so they leave together.
